Central Vallarta East consists primarily of the hillside behind Puerto Vallarta, known as "La Pechuga" and also few popular neighborhoods such as La Remance and and Las Conoas. It also follows the Cuale River up the valley, which has become quite a large neighborhood in itself over the past few years. La Pechuga remains undeveloped, although it is currently owed by a major developer who has plans for it for the future. The other neighborhoods are typical Mexican neighborhoods, most residential single family homes or apartments, with easy access to downtown. There is one new development, Riviera Cuale, which offers new and well-priced condominiums alongside the Cuale River, with city and river, and for some, ocean views.
